Shooter Profile: Ken Nichols
The Shooter:
Ken Nichols has enjoyed shooting and hunting since being a young teenager. Ken possesses a B.S. in Biology and a M.S. in Molecular Biology and has worked in the field of Biotechnology and education for over 20 years.
In 2002, while temporarily unemployed, he worked at a local club trapping for all of the shotgun sports and was immediately hooked. He joined the NSCA and became certified as an NSCA instructor. Ken became serious about competing in sporting clays in 2009 with limited success. Determined, he started seeing success in 2010 moving to C-class. In 2011 the US Open was to be held at M&M Sporting Clays… within driving distance of his home.
Entering multiple events, he enjoyed many successes taking three trophies (all in sub gauge using Gauge-Mate Silver adaptors) and subsequently moving up to B-class. A month later, at the Great American shoot at Hopkin’s Game Farm, he took first place in class in both .410 and 28 gauge and fourth place in 20 gauge (again using Gauge-Mate adaptors). Most recently, in mid-July, Ken punched to A-class at the Flying Rabbit in Mt. Crawford, VA.

GaugeMate Testimonial:
"I have been using Gauge-Mate adaptors for two years and they continue to perform to my demanding expectations. They have afforded me the luxury of shooting and winning sub-gauge competitions with the guns that I own and am used to shooting. I believe that gun fit is critical to success and using Gauge-Mate adaptors has allowed me to stick with guns that fit me well without breaking the bank on new guns. Gauge-Mate adaptors are a quality product, they are affordable, and they open up a whole new level of enjoyment in the shooting sports. Thanks to Gauge-Mate." -- Ken Nichols
