Questions

Rain gauge app questions

Is there a free rain gauge app in Australia?

Yes. GaugeMate is a free rain gauge app made in Queensland for Australian homes, properties and farms. Record your 9am rainfall in seconds, keep years of rainfall records safe, and share gauges with family or staff. It works on iPhone and Android, with no ads.

Is GaugeMate really free?

Yes. Recording rain, your full history, charts, and Excel and PDF downloads are free, with no ads. It’s made in Queensland for Australian farms, properties and homes.

Do I need to download it from the App Store or Google Play?

No. Tap Get The App and add GaugeMate to your home screen. It opens and works like any other app. On iPhone you add it from Safari’s Share button; on Android, Chrome offers to install it.

What happens if I lose or break my phone?

Nothing is lost. Your rainfall records aren’t only on your phone: they’re stored safely with GaugeMate, backed up every night, and linked to your mobile number. On the new phone, open GaugeMate, tap Welcome back and enter your number. A text message code arrives and everything comes back.

Who can see my rain?

Only you, and the Mates you invite to a gauge. Your other gauges stay private, and your mobile number is never shown to anyone else.

Can I use the reports for drought support or the bank?

You can download a PDF rainfall report or an Excel file of every reading whenever you need it. They show the readings you and your Mates entered; whether they’re accepted is up to the agency or lender.
